INFORMATION SCIENCE AND THE DISCURSIVE INTERACTIVE PROCESS OF THE TEACHER/STUDENT RELATIONSHIP IN A VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

In this article, the objective is to present a study that is part of the SESA Network, as well as to provide a theoretical framework for an ongoing master's research within the Language and Teaching Postgraduate Program at the Federal University of Campina Grande (PPGLE/UFCG), Paraíba, Brazil. The research investigates the discursive interactive process of the teacher/student relationship in the virtual program 'Se Liga no Enem Paraíba.' In this sense, discussions regarding the role of Information Science in the interaction process in education are first explained. Secondly, drawing upon Bakhtin's Circle ideas, the theoretical foundation of the research is presented, based on the Dialogic Theory of Language. It is believed that this theoretical perspective may contribute to reflecting on the importance of Information Science in the discursive interactive process. It is concluded that research on interactions through various communication channels in this program reveals how teaching and learning in the public network are currently utilizing the virtual environment, suggesting further investigation in this information field.
