Agronomic evaluations of genetically improved coffee cultivars has been done primarily in research experimental fields, under controlled conditions. This study evaluated the agricultural performance and rust resistance of cultivar Paraíso MG H419-1 in commercial coffee fields planted in several counties in the State of Minas Gerais. The indicator decomposition method allowed the creation of an interview script for the coffee farmers. Yield of cultivar Paraíso MG H419-1 was compared to the yield of cultivars Yellow Catuaí IAC 62, Red Catuaí IAC 99 and Red Catuaí IAC 144. Statistical analysis of data from 310 harvests showed no difference in yield among the cultivars. Plant vigor and resistance to rust were positive traits of cultivar Paraíso. Among the coffee producers interviewed, 76% reported adopting chemical rust control in their crops with this cultivar.
