Abstract

Bromeliaceae is one of the most representative families of Neotropical forests, with significant diversity in the Brejos de Altitude in the Northeast of Brazil. This work presents a listing of the species of Bromeliaceae occurring in the Mata do Pau Ferro State Ecological Reserve, Areia, Paraíba, Brazil. This list was elaborated based on field collections from 2013 to 2018, review of materials deposited in herbaria and data from floristic works and taxonomic studies. The work resulted in the report of 11 species of Bromeliaceae, with emphasis in the genera Tillandsia L. (six species) and Aechmea Ruiz & Pav. (two species), while the other genera were represented by one species. The number and composition of species resemble other areas of Brejos de Altitude in the Northeast of Brazil, as well as in areas of coastal Atlantic Forest, indicating a floristic relationship between these ecological regions.
