Abstract

The work discusses the partial results of a comparative study of articles published in Brazilian and Mexican scientific journals during the first decade of 2000, which address the theme of communicational and/or mediatized interaction (C/MI), emerging issue in communication research from the beginning of that decade. Such a study was conducted to investigate the theoretical epistemological intakes that underlie the objects covered in the articles, identifying their similarities and distinctions, as well as their possible contributions to the theoretical capital of interactional processes. Only the articlesrelated to the area of theories and epistemology of communication will be considered here, since the remainder of the corpus of comparative study are in the analysis phase.
