Abstract

The information required by the competitive intelligence process makes up the central focus of the present work . The purpose and concepts on competitive intelligence are fully presented while the authors try, at the same time, to define the nature of the information gathered that will lead to this process. The gathering of published information is one of the fundamental methods of the competitive intelligence process. Applying the method of data collecting and the information resources suggested by Tyson (1998), the authors investigate the sources of published information, their uniqueness and availability.
