Abstract

The paper presents an experience report at the level of postgraduate teaching in the discipline Epistemology and Information Science, whose objectives are to provide students with the knowledge of the meaning of epistemology, its relation to science, the Information Science theoretical and epistemological bases, their objects of study and research trends in contemporary society. The content and practices of teaching and learning had been distributed in a logic way as a cognitive trajectory, towards the collective construction of knowledge, subsidizing the research epistemological framework from which the dissertations will be produced, ensuring a more consistent contribution to the strengthening and consolidation of the area. The program of the course consisted by four blocks in order to promote discussion of the concepts of epistemology, the relationship of epistemology to information science, the main classical authors in the area and the identification and placement of the students researches in the Working Groups (WG) of the National Association for Research and Graduate Studies in Information Science (ANCIB), with research trends perceptions in Brazil.
