Contributions of the architecture of information for the website "The Color of Culture"

Abstract

The increasing use of technology in daily life and intellectual debate on issues grows etnicorracia and the role of African descent in the information society, knowledge and learning. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the dissemination of information that favors the construction of the image of African descent on the website of the "The Color of Culture". The present study have a qualitative and quantitative approach applied in the analysis of the website “The Color of Culture”, using the assumptions of Digital Information Architecture as theoretical and methodological framework of reference. The results were structured by identifying and reviewing the system of organization, labeling system, search engine and navigation system. This study does not exhaust the possibilities of examining this website, but rather suggests further studies to examine the measures of usability and adoption of accessibility standards on this website so that it more effectively disseminate the history and culture of African descent from the perspective of reducing prejudice, discrimination and racism
