ON THE ANTIQUITY OF MODERNISATION OR THE MODERN AS ATTRIBUTE

Abstract

The question of modernisation, explored from the viewpoint of the history of mentalities in this article, is seen more as a recurrent attríbute over time than as the most recent essentiality to be acquired as tire wìdely dìffused statement "it is necessary to be modern", reminds us. We also raise the question of the ideological and utopian nuances which historically transfìgure the vision of modernity, seeking some: inferences for Brazilian reality.
