Abstract

In recent years - particularly after the fall of the Communist regimes – nationalism and, consequently', separatism, have become the order of the day. Separatist claims have arisen in Brazil, both in the North and in the South, in the name of supposed opposing interests and of alleged ethnic-cultural regional level. The question o/ national unity. Which is fundamental for the survival of Brazil as a nation, should be analysed without passion or partisanship. The problem is closely' linked to the intelligent use of the information media with respect to political conscientization which takes into account the comparative advantages, in terms of scale, of national unity.
