INFORMATION MANAGEMENT FOR A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

We are committed to look for bigger opportunities for the current and future generations by means of invigorating human resources, the protection and renovation of our natural capital, the amplification of the financial resources and the invigoration of those institutions that make these improvements possible. This work approaches the role that the information carries out in relation to a sustainable development and how the information professional can influence on its community towards the achievement of a culture that promotes sustainability. We propose a plan of actions for the creation of a collaborative net of work involving the community and regional libraries which allows the sharing of information and the generalization of results, achieving among all, the rising of culture and environmental education of the target populations.
