Abstract

Study carried out with the applicant's selection for the Information Science Master Course (Federal University of Paraiba, Brazil) having as objective to know the user's profile and their information needs. Data were collected from the candidates' application form and from questionary. The analysis indicates a discussion between classic and modern approach of user's information studies. Final results present the applicants' professional and informational practices on search of citizenship and regional development.
