The theme of "ethics" in the Brazilian periodical literature of Information Science and Librarianship

Abstract

The production on the topic "ethics" found in Brazilian scientific journals on the Librarianship and Information Science is the main focus of this text. The objective is to present the philosophical and doctrinal reasons, the themes and approaches and trends of the discussion on "ethics" in the period 1997 to 2006. The work involved the identification of published texts on the subject. It was found 10 articles produced by 16 authors, from 1997 to 2005. It was found that production corresponds to doctrines named "Ethics of Discourse", "Ethics of Alterity" and the "theory Ethical-Political of Justice". The themes, approaches and trends of the discussion Ethics, show that the attitude of professionals is determined by the current society and the attendance of new technological devices in their environment.
