Abstract

Brazil lives a transition from the analogical TV broadcast and reception to open digital TV. That implies in a transformation of the analogical linear and unidirectional broadcast to the digital plastically and interactive possibilities. This is an appropriate moment to reflect on the use of this new Interactive Digital TV (DTVi), as well is potential for the citizenship continuous process while offering an environment for the promotion of knowledge as a mechanism for social enclosure. One estimates that the future market for DTVi in Brazil is very promising as a way to decrease the gap among Brazilians regarding the spreading of scientifically knowledge and the knowing of digital technology. Digital TV, although it is educational promises, can promote a bigger gap between those who have access to technology and those who are socially on the bor-der. Educational Digital Media has been denied to the majority of the population, once poor and wealth countries, and individuals, are different not just on financial resources as well in the lack of opportunities to produce, share and access knowledge. This arti-cle hopes the convergence of new multimedia technologies and telematics will be ade-quately applied to education-learning processes contributing to universal opportunities for intellectual growth, as a way to increase citizenship participation and the growth of knowledge society. A the beginning of the mass media society has the opportunity of universalize interactive nets of free choice of contents, and socialize the motivation to knowledge on behalf of social development.
