Abstract

Deals with the question of information seen as a commodity, produced by the media and information as a non-commodity, which aims at social change. On the basis of an interview conducted with the coordinator of CEDOP – Centre of Documentation and Popular Publication of Paraíba, we confirmed that the production of the organisation is directed at information imbued with a political character aiming at social change. It also deals with CEDOP`s activities in the field of theatre and popular video, as a way of reaching socially marginalised communities. We conclude that CEDOP`s activities possess an innovatory character which functions as a weapon of information as a result of its political content and accessible language.
