THE PRODUCTIVITY OF NURSING LITERATURE´S AUTHOURS: an application of Lotka´s Law Model

Abstract

This work describes the nature of the generalized inverse power distribution by the minimum linear squared method. It describes, step by step, the process of application of this model using the data, collected and studied by Estabrooks; Winther & Derksen on nursing literature . With n equals to - 2.78, and C equals to 0.7986, at 0.01 level of significance, a critical value of 0.05255 much higher than the estimated maximum deviation of 0.0278, was found. Therefore, this literature distribution fits Lotka’s model.
