Abstract

If the concept of information is important to the Information Science (IS) it must be based upon a theoretical point of view which allows setting up principles about what is information and how to investigate it. This is our investigative interest: how to look information? Our strategy will be to stay distant from a conceptual literature review from the contemporary authors from IS and to go through a brief analysis of the scientific investigations’ evolution in IS; then complete it with the formulations from Birger Hjørland - information is investigated by the socio-cultural perspective from the concepts of discursive community and domain analysis - referring to the concept of information attached to the theoretical approaches of IS.
