VALUE AND INFORMATION SCIENCE: INFORMATION SERVICES BASED ON THE MANAGEMENT OF THE SERVICES OPERATIONS

Abstract

The concept of value is used in many areas in which it is possible to find definitions related to the information science area. This paper ransoms the generas notions associated to value, shows the value ideas present in the information science (added value, information value and cultural value) and relates them to the conception of value valid to the Services Operations Management for the improvement of the information services.It discusses the importance of analyzing the value in the information services with emphasis on the process with the purpose of checking the information value.
