Abstract

This study is based on theories of social memory and its relations between city and music. The objective of the article is to understand, from the analysis of the narrative of a popular song interpreted by Roberto Carlos, how time and space are represented in the song about the city. A study carried out in the first half of 2020, analyzes the informational content present in the musical narrative ''Meu Pequeno Cachoeiro''. The characterization of the scenario was made through the narratology, identifying the episodes, the temporal sequences that make up the plot, involving the characters and the narrated city. It was concluded that the musical narratives about the city help in the construction of the urban imaginary, the collections of the memories of the city, and the conformation of the citizens' identity.
