CONSTRUCTING HORIZONTAL RELATIONSHIPS ON THE INTERNET: A STUDY OF ON-LINE USERS

Abstract

This is an exploratory research, developed with the users of http://ghafreire.sites.uol.com.br website, (that was) constructed in a participative way (model) by the author and the students of the Joaquim Venâncio school of the Oswaldo Cruz foundation. The variables defined for the survey done with the users/ visitors, were: the level of education, motivation to search in the website, relevance and pertinence of the information avaliable, level of dificulties in understanding the texts, the great dificulty found (recovered), the category that facilitates the understanding of the texts and sugestions (free answer). The answers of a sample of the users / visitors were analyzed and some characteristical elements were identified leading to the hypothesis that the participation of the users may narrow the barriers of the communication.
