THEMATIC CONNECTIONS REFERRING TO THE INFORMATION AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN THE INFORMATION SCIENCE FIELD: proposal of human networks

Abstract

Networks in human connection induce growth, sharing, development and innovation. The research’s general aim is to analyze the informal thematic connections, existing among the professors accredited in the research lines “Ethics, Management and Information Policies” and “Management, Mediation and Information Use” at the PPGCI/UFPB and PPGCI/UNESP. Methodologically, it is characterized, with respect to the outline, as an exploratory and descriptive study, of quantitative and qualitative nature, and as a documental study. The data were collected in the professors´ Lattes curricula, years 2005/2010. For the organization and analysis of the data, content analysis and the concepts and measures of the analysis methodology of social networks were adopted, by means of Pajek software. These pointed out the conclusion, through the speech of the interviewed people that they are willing to work in social cooperation networks. The proposals for the formation of inter-organizational formal networks, by specific themes with regard to professors´ performance in the Information Management and Knowledge Management, were presented.
