Abstract

This paper begins with some considerations on Leibniz's philosophy of Hobbes, in particular on the issue of freedom. Leibniz discusses the problem of freedom in the face of physical Hobbesian and its potential deterministic. The Hobbesian ideas about human nature and reason are invaluable to the consolidation of a tradition of political theorists. Taking as a starting point this context, we analyze the possibilities of thinking about political philosophy in the philosophy of Leibniz.

Cristiano Bonneau, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. Possui graduação, especialização, mestrado e doutorado em Filosofia, com Doutorado Sanduíche pela Universidade Paris I- Panthéon Sorbonne. Tem experiência na área de Filosofia, com ênfase em Teoria do Conhecimento, Ética e Metafísica. Na área da Filosofia Moderna, estuda o pensamento de Leibniz e também as filosofias de Descartes, Malebranche, Espinosa, Bayle, Arnauld e Locke. Atua como pesquisador do grupo de pesquisa "Sobre Leibniz e o leibnizianismo" da UFPB, no Centro de Ciências Aplicadas e Educação. Trabalha também com temas em torno da Filosofia, Educação e Ensino, assim como Pós-Modernidade e História da Filosofia e da Ciência. Membro da Société dÉtudes Leibniziennes de Langue Française, da RED Iberoamericana Leibniz.Associação de Professores e Estudiosos de Filosofia da Paraíba. Atua como professor do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia no Programa de Pós-graduação em Filosofia da Universidade Federal da Paraíba.
