Abstract

In the current social inclusion / exclusion has been a topic discussed at events in various areas of knowledge, making us reflect on how businesses and public authorities are acting on behalf of society. In this effort, are sometimes used projects that encourage the integration of those in the information society and knowledge. This reflection is the basis of research that aims to analyze the aspects of social responsibility developed in the municipal project "Station of the Book" that encourages the practice of reading as a social inclusion policy of the Municipality of João Pessoa / PB. Methodologically the research is characterized with quantiqualitative approach, and results of questionnaires to professionals of the three "Station of the Book" that at the time, which are established and in working with social responsibility. As subjects have been six professionals / trainees of the courses in Arts and Education and coordinator of the Library of working in stations. The data collected and analyzed suggest that professionals realize that the actions developed in the project are composed of social attitudes responsibly, linking actions to mediate the process of reading practice and social inclusion of the community. It is the social relevance of the "Station of the Book" because it represents an innovative experiment in the city of João Pessoa / PB. We highlight its role in developing planned actions of reading practices and social responsibility culminating in a continuous process of inclusion and citizenship. Emphasizes the need to improve physical, human, material and financial resources to carry out their actions and the fulfillment of their goals, assisting the existing stations and those that are to be implemented.
