Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to explore the question of identity as an element of sociability in the contemporany world, following the trail of the concepts of identity throughout the history of culture and communication. In its inicial since oral cultures, where the communication was developed in a ritualistic manner, until the new tribes of globally interaction, formed by virtual communities, the study approaches with media processes as key elements in the shaping of identities.
