Abstract

This article identifies and discusses which terms were used for to critic the second mandate of Dilma Rousseff’s govern under gender’s perspective in Brazilian magazines covers. The corpus totalizes 89 covers of Época, Veja e IstoÉ, in 2015 and 2016. The methodology is the quantitative content analysis, with classical and automatized methods. How theoretical base, it explores studies about relations between media, politics and gender, with emphasis which on news coverage of women in politics by Brazilian magazines. It discusses how this press type acting in the social gender construction by means of their media discourse. The results show negative coverage of the president under gender’s perspective was linked to her government and the masculine image of her vice president, Michel Temer.
