This study seeks to analyze the efficiency of the Scientific Initiation Program at UFSC and performance of the professor in the process of formation of researchers. The methodology consists of the research fellows and advisors (PIBIC) in the areas of Administration, Accounting, Economics, Law and Production Engineering (Courses: Civil Engineering Production, Production Engineering Production Engineering and Electrical) of the period goes from 1990 to 2010. For this, we sought in the CNPq's Lattes Platform of the curriculum graduates to: identify characteristics of academic training and progress through the continuity of the graduates of academic scholarships for science (558 graduates, of whom 176 had no record in Lattes. The main results show that the law school has 38% of undergraduate research fellows from the studied period, which is attended by about 920 undergraduate students and 150 graduate of a year. With regard to efficiency of PIBIC, 147 graduates continued to academic life (Masters, PhD and / or post-doctorate), which represents 26% of all scholars, pointing out that many are still in the Graduation, which reduces the percentage of efficiency. As regards the performance of guiding undergraduate research fellows, 47% of the teachers took part in the preparation of stock for the Graduate, in other words, oriented students who now have the desired title (Master, PhD and/or Post-PhD).Downloads
