THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE STATE OF AMAZONAS: constructing the meaning of the building

Abstract

The text carries out a semiotic analysis of library buildings as an element, which is placed in the users´ view to be contemplated, and asan instrument of seduction or rejection for use as a space for reading.It takes as an example for analysis, the building of the Public Library of the State of Amazonas, constructed at the beginning of the XX century.
