The Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) are inside the main purposes of the area of cataloguing, which constitute new concepts for the rules of cataloguing. Those concepts emerged of the Study Group from the Cataloguing, Classification and Indexing Section of the International Federation Library Associations and Institutes (IFLA) that presented a final report. This document offered new perspectives for the framework and relationship of the bibliographic records. In this context, this paper aims to analyze and make feasible the extension of the FRBR applications through concepts of the object orientation. It also aims to propose the development of a framework that serves as basis for implementing automated systems of informational units based on the FRBR. The logical analysis of data reflected in the bibliographic records generates the description of essential elements based on Entity-relationship model that define a representation of information based on their own entities, attributes and relationships. The FRBR only define a purpose of implementing a model of an informational environment, while this research intends to develop a framework for implementing FRBR using resources of Object Orientation.Downloads
