Information and knowledge management in the era of sharing and collaboration

Abstract

The article traces the origins and reflects on the evolution of knowledge management as well as makes an analysis of the challenges related with information and knowledge sharing in organizations. It compares the traditional web and the so-called web 2.0, especially the current sharing tools. It concludes by presenting some conclusions and expectations concerning the increasing integration between knowledge management and knowledge organization through social bookmarking tools.
