THE INFORMATION SOCIETY AND ACCESS TO EDUCATION: a necessary interface in the search for citizenship

Abstract

This text presents aspects considered important for an understanding of the characteristics and challenges of the Information Society. It discusses information in the educational sphere and in the context of the new information and communication technologies, highlighting the importance of the Green Book (Livro Verde) produced by the Information Society, specifically, by the Thematic Group on Education. It also discusses the educational actions proposed in the SocInfo Programme and defends the relevance of regionalism and of the micro as prerequisites for successfully carrying out actions of an educational nature in the search for citizenship.
