Abstract

Knowledge has become one of the key resources for organizations, from the moment when change took place in an industrial economy to an extremely competitive global economy. Because of this, knowledge management emerges as a management methodology that goes beyond the simple innovation process, determining an organization’s competitive advantage. The main objective in the knowledge management for organizations is to obtain a competitive advantage over its competitors by innovating products, services and processes. Facilitating the organizations adjustments regarding to the changes brought by the economies globalization and the consequent data accumulation stored by these organizations, this work presents the use of a knowledge management architecture with the use of data mining combined with the theory of rough sets to provide organizations more agility and therefore greater competitiveness. This work presents the specification and development of a tool in a Web environment for intellectual capital management. Within this process, the system allows to check the existing intellectual capital in the organization, and to know the professionals who are more prepared to face the market.
