Adoption and incorporation of theories of Social Science Information Science from the perspective of the concepts used by Gernot Wersig

Abstract

Describes the work to build a picture of the presence of theories of Social Sciences in Information Science. As the object of study was selected article Gernot Wersig, ‘Information science: the study of postmodern knowledge usage’ of which six were selected concepts which he presents a conception of present society and two other concepts for which shows the role that knowledge takes in this society postulated by him. The definition of concepts led the search for its inclusion in the field of Social Sciences and allowed to look at theories from this field and infer the adoption and use of these theories selected by the author in the field of Information Science.
