Abstract

This article deals with some research topics on the representations of practices related to the book in the cinematographic image. There were accomplished image analyses in several films in which the five themes elected for the study occurred: 1) places or spaces of storage; 2) professionals that deal with organization and storage; 3) authors, creators and writers; 4) readers and users; 5) distopias or collections destructions. It is concluded that there are representations that are common to many films. Such representations elaborate stereotypes that have pedagogical functions, not always positive, concerning to the themes studied.
