Abstract

The work here expounded is divided in three parts: first, will be considered some moments which have historical or theoretical relevance in the great panorama of the tradition of the rhetoric. On the second part, we will analyze rhetoric as faculty about discourse, and will observe that it has a role which structure the language and the “reality”. Finally, we will reflect about the utility of rhetoric to defend what is considered true by who discourses, observing that the field of the rhetoric is constituted by contingency, and that it doesn’t represent one power contrary to the idea of truth, but to the idea of evidence.
