Abstract

This research aims to analyze the legal contours of the fundamental social right to food. In addition, it seeks to highlight how the food crisis situation that has been triggered across the globe is related to the dominance of private capital over the food turning it into merchandise. It is also sought to demonstrate that the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic significantly increased the inequality in access to adequate food aggravating the food crisis scenario. In this context, it will be investigated: what are the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic on the enjoyment of the fundamental social right to food? To conduct the research process, the deductive approach method, the method of monographic procedure and as a research technique indirect documentation. From the research, it is concluded that the food capture by private capital forms a scenario of intense social inequality and ineffectiveness of right to feeding, aggravated, especially, by the Covid-19 eclosion.
