Abstract

Nowadays, world’s nations are mainly urban and made about security their political hobbyhorse. However, they do not have the same problems of violence. In addition, the question of violence and security must bring us to considered societies in their complexity and in their specificities. In Medellin (Colombia), urban population has to deal with a legal, a political and an economic violence. This town has a multitude of armed actors. At first sight, all of them aspire to assure the population’s security who is present on the territory’s they intend to control. According to all statements analyzed here, a new interrogation emerges, is it urban violence, or a process of urbanization of the Colombian war?
