The text reflects on the exchanges between Fundamental Psychopathology and Criminology. After quoting the story of a violent crime of sexual background, the author raises questions about the violence throughout history. Supported by psychoanalysis the author argues that the potential for evil is an inherent data on humankind. The question is to know about the destiny of this latent potential in every human being. To answer this question, the author makes a short digression on Criminology and then presents the basic principles of Fundamental Psychopathology to explain the origin of the human psyche. The author concludes by stating the importance of the healthcare professional to ask himself or herself about how they are affected by the evil that comes from the other, in order not to be engulfed by it.Downloads
