Abstract

The present article aims to understand how the shared ideas between the south american States facilitated the constitution of a Security Community in the region, between 2000 and 2004. Thereby, will be made a revision of the concept of Security Community, understanding some aspects and your phases. In a second moment, will be realized a historic revision that involves the South America, focusing in integration initiatives in the XIX and XX centuries, and in importants figures in this context. Lastly, will be made a speech analysis about the three Summits of South-american Presidents’ documents, enlightened by the concept of Security Community. It comprehends that the south american States shared ideas and values related to democracy, development and the establishment of the peace, as initiated the creation of institutions during these reunions.
