Abstract

Teaching and learning imply intercultural communication, communication between different people. Failure often stems from the non-contextualization of non-translation between cultural margins, the absence of an intercultural and socio-pedagogical mediation that allows the novelty to make sense for learners. Learning implies an intercultural or even intrapersonal mediation, materialized in a socio pedagogical mediation from the cultural margins from which educators and students come, making each self less monocultural and, on the contrary, more complete and mestizo of itself and others. So, more intercultural. Within the scope of this argument, this text intends to point out reflections and action models for the construction of mediating and intercultural pedagogies as socio anthropologies applied to education, be it school or non-school, illustrated with Portuguese contexts particularly linked to the integration of immigrants in Portuguese society.
