The objetive of this article is to assess the role of the Law of the Tendential Fall in the Rate of Profit, as expounded by Marx in Chapters XIII and XIV of Volume III of Capital, as a valid analytical tool for studying the trends and contradictions of contemporary late capitalism. This evaluation is based on a reconstruction of the categories of limits and internal contradictions of capital as presented by the German thinker in the aforementioned chapters. These concepts will be analyzed from a genealogical perspective as valid conceptual tools for examining the limits of capitalist production processes in the context of the digital economy and surveillance capitalism. The analysis demonstrates the limitations of post-Marxist positions regarding contemporary transformations of capital. Additionally, the limits of teleological interpretations of Marx's framework are evaluated.
