The speed with which structural transformations have made products, processes, companies and entire markets obsolete has drawn the attention of organizations to the need to innovate in their segments, to deliver superior value to the customer and to position themselves competitively in the face of competition. This new wave has reinforced concepts such as entrepreneurship, innovation, startups and more recently lean startup. The objective of this research was to develop a study that analyzed the opinion of different authors on these concepts through a bibliographic survey on the subject in publications between the years 2009 to 2019. The methodology used for the preparation of this study was an analysis of publications on entrepreneurship, innovation, startups and lean startup. The bases used were Spell, Scopus, Google Scholar and books and in the end 14 journals and 1 book were used. The research showed that startups are nascent companies directly linked to the concepts of entrepreneurship and innovation that often arise in environments of uncertainty and instability. The concept of lean or lean thinking applied to startups gave rise to the lean startup that presents hypothesis validation methods so that startups have greater chances of success in the market.
