Digital repositories (DR) and knowledge bases (KB) have similar objectives, however, they have different concepts. The objective of this study is to investigate the implementation of KB having a DR as technological support, exploring the existing models. This research is characterized as exploratory and descriptive, based on a bibliographical research in the databases: Scopus Elsevier, Web of Science, BRAPCI, Scielo and Google Scholar. Applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, only studies retrieved from Google Scholar were selected, with the portfolio comprising 20 studies. The results made it possible to identify and map models, existing relationships and also differences in their use, distributed into five categories that included public and private solutions for institutional and thematic KB and DR. Studies were observed that implemented a BC as a DR (categories 1 and 2) and others (categories 3, 4 and 5) in which the concept of KB was broad, involving the processing and discovery of knowledge, associated with other artifacts in addition to repositories.
