This study is characterized as qualitative research, through a case study and aims to verify how children's literature and youth literature can be an instrument for science education in schools, enabling more dynamic and creative learning, in order to stimulate a taste for science and contribute to scientific literacy. To verify whether there is a relationship between children's literature, youth literature and scientific literacy, a survey of publications that address the aforementioned themes and are an incentive instrument for educators in order to awaken the desire and curiosity for science in students was carried out. . It is also believed that these books can contribute to the dialogue between science and literature, providing interdisciplinarity in formal and non-formal spaces such as the classroom, the library, among others and the valorization of literary production contributing to the scientific literacy of children and young people.
