For many Brazilian Brass Scholars, The Brazilian Trombone Association Journal (BTAJ & Associated) was a dream. Today the magazine is a scientific means for the dissemination and a reference of research for the area as an object of study. The Associação Brasileira de Trombones innovated in 2012 by creating the Scientific Symposium, as it matures, evolved into the creation of the current journal, further consolidating the scientific area. About four years ago, we opened the scope of the periodical to works focusing on all brass instruments, receiving support, and exchanging experiences from trumpet, horn, tuba, and euphonium colleagues, strengthening and diversifying our editorial body.
Currently, the scope of our journal includes works focused on different areas of knowledge, such as musical performance, instrumental education, historical musicology, musician health, music, and technology, among others. With the opening to all brass musical instruments, the possibility of even more excellent coverage was created.
At this time, seeking to innovate even more, we created the possibility of submitting artistic research works, expanding the range of options. This perspective is a great demand in our area, in which theory, practice, and research are involved in artistic questions and criteria. We believe in all aspects of music making, transverse music, and referring artistically.
Articles are accepted in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. All guidelines for authors are available on our website:

We invite researchers, and graduate students, to submit their articles and their artistic research, in the form of an article/concert, by our submission rules. The goal of our magazine is to provide scientific support for our performances, pedagogies, health concerns, repertoires and so many other developments that this scientific space can create. We are stimulated by the new challenges and confident that we are moving more and more toward achieving goals that have not yet been taken into account.
