This work aims to relate the mediated identities of disability, especially of Paralympic athletes, with the concepts of framing theory, recognizing, from the results found in studies on media representations, the biases chosen by journalists in the production of news and value judgments attributed to disability. We used a set of articles that studied the representation of disability in editions of the Olympic Games of the last 20 years and studies on the reception of this representation among high-performance athletes. The results allowed us to perceive a new direction on the path of media coverage of disability.
Keywords: Deficiency. Media Representations. Paralympic athletes.
