SUPERANDO VÍCIOS NA INTERAÇÃO DA FILOSOFIA COM A CIÊNCIA: : EXEMPLO DA NEUROCIÊNCIA E DA FILOSOFIA DA LINGUAGEM

Resumo

A ciência é uma forma importante de conhecimento e tem tido marcante influência no pensamento filosófico. A reflexão acerca do caráter inescapável do conhecimento científico e da melhor maneira de se utilizar de seus achados, evitando possíveis vícios, adquire grande relevância. A partir dos avanços da neurociência relativos ao processamento da linguagem, têm sido abertas várias possibilidades de reflexão sobre os consectários filosóficos dos achados científicos nessa área. Contudo, essa interação deve ser cuidadosa, evitando-se deturpações e riscos por vezes presentes em tais relações interdisciplinares. Um dos pontos mais relevantes da neurolinguística - o ramo da neurociência aplicada à linguagem - é aquele que trata das características e das diferenças na maneira como se dá o processamento da linguagem entre crianças na primeira infância e entre jovens ou adultos. Essas peculiaridades neurolinguísticas podem ser cotejadas com alguns constructos teóricos da filosofia da linguagem. Tal confronto representa a oportunidade para um sinergismo virtuoso, contanto que se evite a utilização da ciência como um pretenso tribunal de validação. Depreende-se que algumas correntes mais elaboradas ligadas à teoria do significado, de tradição mentalista e não-mentalista, podem ser relacionadas e, em certos aspectos, harmonizadas diante de evidências científicas.
