The article proposes to present some considerations about how teaching practice is understood based on the proposals of Maria Teresa Nidelcoff and bell hooks, explicitly analyzing the concepts of teacher-people and engaged pedagogy, focusing on establishing a relationship between these concepts. In the development of this text, we present (1) what are the problematizations and didactic postures on which Nidelcoff relies for the development of his school proposal, (2) the configurations of the concept of Engaged Pedagogy in the work of hooks, and (3) how it is possible to establish a relationship of resignification from one concept to another. Finally, we identified that there are complex points of convergence between the two concepts that establish how the contextualization of teaching practices and teaching postures is the way to transform the school space.
