THE RELATION BETWEEN RELIGIOSITY AND DEATH VISIONS

Abstract

This paper had as objective to know the relations between the religiosity and the conceptions concerning the death. The participants of this study were 190 male and female academical students from the courses of Law, Physical Education, Physiotherapy and Psychology, most of the participants is female (68,9%) and Catholic (61,6%). For the data collection were used as instruments the Questionnaire of Religious Attitude, the Questionnaire on Several Perspectives of Death and a Social-demographic Questionnaire. The results pointed for the existence of positive correlations between religiosity and life from the beyond, courage and natural end. On the other hand the religiosity was correlated negatively with the death vision as failure. The implications of these results are discussed and future researches suggested.
