The Poetry of Anna de Noailles: A Poetics of Multiple Cultures
ABSTRACT
The poetry of Anna de Noailles, a French poet and writer, is characterized by frequent descriptions of multiple images with configurations of internal landscapes of the lyrical self and external scenarios of physical spaces mentioned in Noailles' poetics. The poet reveals in the juxtaposition of words, in the simultaneity of ideas and images, a poetry of mobility, traits present in literature and the arts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The artistic and literary creation of this period was marked by the social and technological transformations of the time. In this study, we address the dynamism present in Noailles' poetry. The analyses were developed based on the critical reception of the poet. Likewise, we rely on the study by Angela Bargenda (1995).
Keywords: Mobility. Juxtaposition. Simultaneity.
