Este artigo aborda os resultados de uma pesquisa do perfil dos empreendimentos da economia solidária no município de Araraquara a partir do advento da pandemia do COVID-19. Busca-se identificar, de um lado, os impactos da pandemia na vida dos empreendimentos (criação, mortalidade, fortalecimento, fragilização, etc.) e, de outro, se houve a mobilização de iniciativas comunitárias para o enfrentamento às mazelas da pandemia, notadamente nas frentes de produção de equipamentos de proteção individual (EPIs) e de alimentos. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, de dupla natureza, decritiva e exploratória, delineada como estudo de casos múltiplos, tendo como principais instrumentos de coleta de dados a pesquisa documental, a observação participante e a aplicação de questionários. Buscou-se, com isso, compreender a dinâmica da economia solidária no município, sobretudo durante o período da pandemia, com foco nos desafios impostos em meio ao cenário de instabilidade política, social e econômica criado pela pandemia e, ao mesmo tempo, apontar as dificuldades encontradas pelos EES em meio à crise, e analisar se o ambiente se tornou propício à união de grupos solidários em prol da prevenção.
