Organizational Memory: the construction of an instrument in an accessible system

The history of organizations has been increasingly the subject of scientific studies, which is due to the reflexes that organizations have in society in general. Creating means to record and preserve the evolution of organizations is critical and, therefore, becomes a task for the archivist. A tool capable of collaborating with this is organizational memory, which, supported by records management and information management, becomes capable of promote knowledge management in organizations. This research sought to discuss and present the fundamental elements for the construction of organizational memory, having as a guiding objective the construction of an instrument capable of capturing information about the operational processes relevant to organizational memory. To this end, we used bibliographic research around the themes of organizational memory, records management, information management, knowledge management and administrative planning, in order to understand the fundamental elements of organizational memory. As a result of research, an instrument for registration and control was created, the Organizational Memory Record Form, composed of seven guides, using the Excel application. As methodological procedures for this purpose we use documentary research and conducting a survey research with the application of questionnaires and interviews It was also identified that the elaboration of flowcharts and Standard Operating Procedure contributes to the organizational memory, as it allows the registration of the processes and activities developed by the organizations, one of the gaps present in the studies of organizational memory.
